MAINZ & METROPOLITAN REGION RHINE-MAIN

A city with tradition – in a region with a future

Whether it’s wine or a “carnival”, academics or media: Mainz has much to offer. Situated both on the Rhine and the Main, the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital is impressive with its mix of urban bustle and small-town flair. The old town, with its picturesque streets, half-timbered houses and squares, is well-known. The Cathedral, Gutenberg Museum and Mainz State Theatre are also located here. Traditional pubs and wine bars provide evidence of a Rhenish joie-de-vivre – and the Rhine promenade is a popular meeting place that bustles with activity long into the night.

The importance of Mainz as a media city is undisputed. In addition to the broadcasters ZDF and SWR, there are some other big publishers who have their headquarters here. With the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz University and the Catholic University, as well as various research institutions and museums, the city is also the largest academic location in Rhineland-Palatinate and therefore a real hotspot for students! Mainz and Wiesbaden, the capital of Hessen located just across the Rhine, together make an unbeatable location – the Rhine-Main metropolitan region is considered to be one of the strongest and most versatile economic regions in Europe. Then there’s the “boom town” of Frankfurt with its banks, trade fairs and the largest airport in Germany only 50 kilometres away.

UPTOWN MAINZ

Living, working, and relaxing – in the footsteps of the Romans

The Romans chose the area of today’s uptown for their first camps and settlements in Mainz. This is evidenced through the Roman theatre, the remains of an aqueduct or the Roman wall. The green space and housing estates of the 1920s along with the 17th century Citadel shape the district’s special character. Nowadays, the Upper Town is captivating due to its proximity to the city centre and the main train station. It is quick to reach the Rhine or the old town, with its shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs and wine bars, as well as the student-dominated district of Neustadt.

Supermarkets, a drugstore and a bakery are within walking distance from the 5RÖMER. The same applies to the Mainz universities, university clinics and hospitals. They guarantee not only perfect medical care, but also make Mainz an attractive location for students, medical professionals and scientists. And after work? The city park with its rose garden or the botanical gardens of the Johannes Gutenberg University offer great opportunities for sports, games and fun. Just around the corner you’ll find the Taubertsberg swimming pool, which boasts a spacious spa. And if you have children, you can benefit from easily accessible kindergartens and schools.

FÜNF RÖMER

Modern, central, urban – Welcome to the FÜNF RÖMER!

The FÜNF RÖMER residential complex belongs to a new five-part building complex, which stretches along the streets Am Linsenberg and Römerwall. With more than 8,000 square metres of living space, it offers 146 1- to 4‑room apartments equipped with all the modern conveniences –with a special focus on the more sought-after compact apartments.

Architecturally, the six-storey building blends in homogeneously with the overall design concept of the area. The façade design also reflects patterns typical of the surrounding housing estates from the 1920s. Protruding loggias, wide window fronts, and clinkered projections lend it a lively, dynamic appearance. The back of the building is characterised by floor-to-ceiling windows and the front side by balconies and terraces, all of which overlook a leafy garden courtyard with a playground. The shared underground car park, which has 119 dedicated parking spaces for the tenants in FÜNF RÖMER, is connected to the residential complex through adjacent parts of the building. In future, the German Red Cross, the affiliated ambulance service and an exclusive boutique hotel will be housed there.
