A city with tradition – in a region with a future

Whether it’s wine or a “car­ni­val”, aca­d­e­mics or media: Mainz has much to offer. Sit­u­at­ed both on the Rhine and the Main, the Rhineland-Palati­nate state cap­i­tal is impres­sive with its mix of urban bus­tle and small-town flair. The old town, with its pic­turesque streets, half-tim­bered hous­es and squares, is well-known. The Cathe­dral, Guten­berg Muse­um and Mainz State The­atre are also locat­ed here. Tra­di­tion­al pubs and wine bars pro­vide evi­dence of a Rhen­ish joie-de-vivre – and the Rhine prom­e­nade is a pop­u­lar meet­ing place that bus­tles with activ­i­ty long into the night.

The impor­tance of Mainz as a media city is undis­put­ed. In addi­tion to the broad­cast­ers ZDF and SWR, there are some oth­er big pub­lish­ers who have their head­quar­ters here. With the Johannes Guten­berg Uni­ver­si­ty, Mainz Uni­ver­si­ty and the Catholic Uni­ver­si­ty, as well as var­i­ous research insti­tu­tions and muse­ums, the city is also the largest aca­d­e­m­ic loca­tion in Rhineland-Palati­nate and there­fore a real hotspot for stu­dents! Mainz and Wies­baden, the cap­i­tal of Hes­sen locat­ed just across the Rhine, togeth­er make an unbeat­able loca­tion – the Rhine-Main met­ro­pol­i­tan region is con­sid­ered to be one of the strongest and most ver­sa­tile eco­nom­ic regions in Europe. Then there’s the “boom town” of Frank­furt with its banks, trade fairs and the largest air­port in Ger­many only 50 kilo­me­tres away.


Living, working, and relaxing – in the footsteps of the Romans

The Romans chose the area of today’s uptown for their first camps and set­tle­ments in Mainz. This is evi­denced through the Roman the­atre, the remains of an aque­duct or the Roman wall. The green space and hous­ing estates of the 1920s along with the 17th cen­tu­ry Citadel shape the district’s spe­cial char­ac­ter. Nowa­days, the Upper Town is cap­ti­vat­ing due to its prox­im­i­ty to the city cen­tre and the main train sta­tion. It is quick to reach the Rhine or the old town, with its shops, restau­rants, cafés, pubs and wine bars, as well as the stu­dent-dom­i­nat­ed dis­trict of Neustadt.

Super­mar­kets, a drug­store and a bak­ery are with­in walk­ing dis­tance from the 5RÖMER. The same applies to the Mainz uni­ver­si­ties, uni­ver­si­ty clin­ics and hos­pi­tals. They guar­an­tee not only per­fect med­ical care, but also make Mainz an attrac­tive loca­tion for stu­dents, med­ical pro­fes­sion­als and sci­en­tists. And after work? The city park with its rose gar­den or the botan­i­cal gar­dens of the Johannes Guten­berg Uni­ver­si­ty offer great oppor­tu­ni­ties for sports, games and fun. Life in the FÜNF RÖMER – a life of short trips

Com­muters, stu­dents and oth­er trav­ellers will be delight­ed by the trans­port links afford­ed by the FÜNF RÖMER com­plex. From here you can walk to Mainz’s Main Train Sta­tion in just a few min­utes –from where you can catch any of the local, region­al and nation­al trans­porta­tion links. Too far with a heavy suit­case? The metro sta­tion “Haupt­bahn­hof West” is just a stone’s throw from the prop­er­ty. If you pre­fer dri­ving, a short trip on the A60 motor­way will lead you to Frank­furt and Darm­stadt and to Bin­gen and Koblenz. The A671 and A643 motor­ways can also be reached in a few min­utes.

The FÜNF RÖMER res­i­den­tial com­plex belongs to a new five-part build­ing com­plex, which stretch­es along the streets Am Lin­sen­berg and Römer­wall. With more than 8,000 square metres of liv­ing space, it offers 146 1- to 4‑room apart­ments equipped with all the mod­ern con­ve­niences –with a spe­cial focus on the more sought-after com­pact apart­ments.

Archi­tec­tural­ly, the six-storey build­ing blends in homo­ge­neous­ly with the over­all design con­cept of the area. The façade design also reflects pat­terns typ­i­cal of the sur­round­ing hous­ing estates from the 1920s. The spa­cious liv­ing and din­ing area, with a mod­ern kitchen unit, con­nects the wide, floor-to-ceil­ing win­dows direct­ly to the spa­cious bal­cony. An open hall­way leads to the two bed­rooms, each with adjoin­ing log­gia, a com­bined bath and show­er room, the sep­a­rate lava­to­ry and the sep­a­rate stor­age room with space for a wash­ing machine and dry­er.
